Experience is the Best Teacher. Learn, Reflect, and Thrive with the Power of Experiential Education at KT Global School.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

WHAT IS EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING?

Experiential Learning, simply put is ‘Learning by Doing’. As defined by the Association for Experiential Education (AEE), Experiential education is a teaching philosophy that involves many methodologies in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and develop people's capacity to contribute to their communities.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS: HOW IS IT BENEFICIAL?

Experiential learning is an engaged and student-centric learning method in which learners take charge of their learning journey through hands-on experiences and reflecting on those with guided critical analysis and synthesis of the outcomes. Experiential Learning activities for kids can teach them the relevance of the theoretical concepts as well as their practical application in real-world scenarios.

HOW EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING WORKS

Experiential Learning Strategies for Students can be explained with the following four steps:

Experiencing :

Experiencing

The learning journey begins with a first-hand experience in which learners use their senses and perceptions to observe and engage in the current happenings

Reflecting :

Reflecting

After the experience, comes the turn of reflective observation in which learners reflect on what happened and connect feelings with ideas about the experience.

Thinking :

Thinking

The learner engages in deep thinking to build an abstract concept or form theories and principles that can be tested.

Acting :

Acting

This is an active experimentation stage where the learner tests the theory and applies the learning to get feedback and create the next experience.

KT GLOBAL SCHOOL: LEADING THE WAY IN EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

At KT Global School our core objective is to kindle the love for learning in our students. Thus, we have intricately woven experiential learning into the very fabric of our education process. Our educators act as mentors and facilitators who guide our students through their learning journey and help them analyze their experiences on and off the school campus. Through carefully curated Experiential Learning Activities for the Classroom and Beyond, we make learning fun and interesting while empowering them to be lifelong learners and deep thinkers. Here are a few of the experiential learning ideas we use at KT Global School:

Farm-to-store Experience:

Farm-to-store Experience

Our students participate in gardening and small farming projects on the campus. For example. They participate in the maize plantation, taking care of the crop, and harvesting. They are then guided through the process in which these corn kernels are made into pop-corn snacks. Thus our students not only enjoy the snack but deeply understand the entire process behind its making.

Physics Lessons on the Football Field:

Physics Lessons on the Football Field

Students at KTGS learn concepts of physics and mathematics like force, momentum, and hyperbolic motion all while playing a football game. This not only makes them play better but also teaches them the relevance of these topics in real life

Nature Walks and Social Visits:

Nature Walks and Social Visits

We frequently take our students on outdoor trips, whether it is a hiking on the Barunei hills in the school’s backdrop or to a dam site. Students explore nature, observe the different species of flora and fauna, or have the chance to study the process of generating hydroelectricity.

At KT Global School, we are dedicated in redefining the education model and reform it for the better through many experiential learning strategies similar to the ones listed above. Our classrooms are thematically designed and one-of-its-kind in the country; encouraging students’ curiosity. Moreover, every inch of our campus offers multiple learning opportunities. That is the power of experiential learning, that our students are guided for- ‘to learn for life, from life.’
